Our Vision: To rescue and restore the fatherless, forgotten and oppressed children among the nations.
In YWAM God has designed us to respond to the needs of a hurting world. This includes children. Children are the most vulnerable group in any society. The stories of children around the world are staggering. Throughout the world millions of children are orphaned through war, through AIDS, through extreme poverty. Every seven seconds a child dies from a preventable disease. Drug addiction runs rampant.
Look some more at the issues that put them at risk – sex trafficking, poverty, AIDS, abuse, child soldiers, and broken families. Children are sold into prostitution or forced to become child soldiers. They’re lost and they have no place to live. These children have no hope. And these are the ones that are on the heart of God.
We need to defend the rights of children at risk, restoring their dignity as children of God and developing their unique gifts and skills. Due to the diverse nature of the issues at hand we need to employ a diversity of gifts and skills to combat these problems. You can make a difference.
At Sydney Hills this ministry is still growing and developing so it gives an opportunity for those with a heart for God’s precious little ones to step up and help pioneer.
To date we have run seminars in Sydney, Asia, Africa and Central America on the Needs and Development of Children. Education is key in a child’s upbringing especially when a child is at risk. But we want to expand more into the hands on!
